Re: Speech Question --- Please Help

DD is turning 18 months tomorrow and as of last week she barely said anything I could understand... I am getting her evaluated, no harm...
And literally, as of last week, she now says a bunch of words, go figure...
If she qualifies fine, if not, then fine tooChat Icon
But she always understood everything so I was never worried...

Re: Speech Question --- Please Help

Personally I would have my child evaluated by Early Intervention. It does not cost a thing. IMO, it can bring peace of mind or get your child the assistance that they need.
I am soooo glad that I got Jason EI when he got home. He went from barely crawling to running around the whole house, climbing everything and even jumping. If I had waited he might not be doing so well.
There is NO shame in getting an EI eval. IMO, it is silly to wait. Getting help early is so important IMO.

Thank you ladies for your support and suggestions...

I forgot I also bought these flash cards that are sooo great. He loves them and now says Apple, etc from them and can count along with them. They are also a teether which comes in handy when he gets bored.

ETA: They are from Munchkin.

Re: Speech Question --- Please Help

I'll see where we are at when DS turns 18 months. If he is not saying a few words then I will definitely have evaluated. I may just get it done anyways. Like some of you have said, if there is a problem then it's caught early enough where you can help them...
