Spelling (WORD) Tips

It's a pet peeve of mine but maybe it will help some people..

The word is privilege not privledge

Its a piece of paper, not peace of paper.

It's Disgusted , not discusted.

I WON something means a prize was Won. Not I ONE.

Carry on, or add your own.

And before someone asks does it really bother me that much. YES those really bother me that much. I dont have a life these days.

ETA- More word tips. Its not the spelling that bothers me. Im a bad speller.

Re: Spelling Tips

The spell checker won't pick up the one, won or peace, piece...

I think people just don't care to bother when writing in such an informal manner. It's equivalent to texting, emailing and Iming.. people rarely follow proper grammar/spelling rules. I know after correcting papers all day, I have the WORST grammar on here!!!! My kids would have a field day haha.

I spell awful too. Dont get me wrong, I will spell a LOT wrong if I dont use spell check and sometimes Im too lazy ( most times ) to use it.

Its the I one a prize and peace of paper and priviledge stuff, which is just not even words, or correct that amazes me how many people dont know the difference. Some of those examples are from TEACHERS. I kid you not.

I do that too. I think in a forum like others said, its not needed to be perfect with that.

My point anyway was something far more scary in terms of word usage. Even the There/Their thing doesnt bother me too much.

"you" not "u"

"your" or "you are" not "ur"

A real life friend used to do this on a site we both visited, and it made me nuts.

i ALWAYS spell definitely (definetly) wrong. since this is an "informal" site, i am not bothered by the spelling errors. however, i am VERY particular and anal when it come to formal writing.
