I dont use credit card for gas. I will only go a full service station when the boys are in the car, otherise I would have to leave them in the car to and go into the store and leave them in the car...Im sorry I WILL NOT do that.
I think there is a big difference if you are using a CC, and just standing by the gas pump is totally different.

Surely it would be more dangerous to pump gas while holding a child than to leave them in the car.

ITA! And I make sure the windows are up. But it usually works out that DD is not with me when I get gas, I usually get it while I'm at work.

In my town, all gas stations are required by law to be full serve. I always make sure I fill up close to home.

We always pay by CC, and leave DC in the car with the windows closed (at least the ones on the pump side). It's much safer to have DC in the car with the windows closed while at a gas station. If the windows are open, or they are outside with you, they can breathe the gas fumes.
ITA.. its not like it takes too long to do it.. and the keys are with me.

I've gotten gas exactly one time since DD was born (with her, that is) and it was a full serve pump.
This is why the gas light turned on as I parked the car at the babysitters house this am. We've been riding around on a quarter tank all week.

I generally use my C/C at the pump, but the couple of times that I have had to run inside, I leave my DS in the car and lock it. Mind you, I think it depends on your town, surroundings, situation. In my situation, my car has been within my view each time,only a few feet away, and I am confident about the area in which I live/get gas in that no one will be able to break into my locked car and grab DS before I get back to the car. I think it is all about discretion...

I usually forget i need gas, so dh does it for me. When i do remember my dd isnt usualy with me. But i guess i would but i would pay by credit card at self service and keep doors lock and car off.

I started the gas thing with my reply that I hate self serve gas stations. The reason I said that is because I don't use debit cards at all, and I HATE using a CC for gas. I used to live in the Township of Huntington where there is a ban on self serve stations. Where I live now, there are NO full serve stations . . . not even stations that have a full service pump, and is pizzes me off that I can't get gas unless I leave my child in the car (or haul her and the infant carrier out) while I pay.
