Absolutely. I actually don't see a reason not to. Is it that ladies don't want other ladies to smell it? We all go so why pretend? Do guys have this issue?
eta: if another reason is not sitting, I never sit. I've got quads of steel.

I don't have an issue. I actually prefer going at work. I get paid by the hour, so if I go at work, I'm technically getting paid to poop!
Plus, it's that much less going into *my* septic system at home....

If its an emergency, yup. I'd rather go at work than risk being stuck on the subway and feeling THAT FEELING!
Courtesy flushing and air freshener are beautiful things. I wish more people knew that..

TMI, but if you must know I need time to poop and did not feel comfortable spending a lot of time in a stall; I was more OK with spending the time in a private bathroom - although I still preferred not to.

For me its more about liking privacy to make the sounds I need to make and sit there for as long as I want and not feel uncomfortable. People are judge-y even though they go through the same things when they poo, I don't like it.

Try not to.
It should say *I* try not to.
same here! I try to go at home! If I really have to go I do, but I rather hold it in , unless it is an emergency .

Re: Spin-off: Do you poop at work?
I never understood how you could always avoid it?
For example before I had DD, I would work 2 hours of OT. Add in an hour of travel time. That is 11.5 hours out of the house!! Minus time spent sleeping at home. It is just too long to NEVER do it at work!

HOW TO POOP AT WORK
TURD BURGLAR: Someone who does not realize that you are in the stall and tries to force the door open. This is one of the most shocking and vulnerable moments that can occur when taking a poop at work. If this occurs, remain in the stall until the Turd Burglar leaves. This way you will avoid all uncomfortable eye contact.
CAMO-COUGH: A phony cough that alerts all new entrants into the bathroom that you are in a stall. This can be used to cover-up a WATERMELON, or to alert potential Turd Burglars. Very effective when used in conjunction with an ASTAIRE.
ASTAIRE: A subtle toe-tap that is used to alert potential Turd Burglars that you are occupying a stall. This will remove all doubt that the stall is occupied. If you hear an Astaire, leave the bathroom immediately so the pooper can poop in peace.

Re: Spin-off: Do you poop at work?
As long as no one else is in the bathroom when I want to go, I really have no problem with it. I have IBS and when I gotta go, I gotta go.

For some reason my "body clock" is about 10:30am.
So I have invested in some lysol, and make my blackberry silent.

Uhm, isn't that what bathrooms are FOR? You know, to GO to the bathroom?? I am just sayin'...
Thank you. I never understand freaking out about it. Everybody poops. I'm not saying the smell is pleasant, but if you gotta go, you gotta go. I'm certainly not going to blame anyone for it, unless they're unsanitary about it.

Once, in the 10 years i have been with this company... when I was pregnant...but i used the private bathroom, not the community bathroom. And I sprayed afterwards, and flushed the toilet.

I used to chat with my friend while she was at work and instead of saying "brb" she would say "p2p". Paid to poop.
To answer the question, yes I do. I'm in the building before most people and also have a key to the gym that hardly ever gets used. I'm courteous about it, and I don't have a problem with it.
