Spin off to daycare teacher gifts
What is the average amount to spend? And who do you buy for? Dd is 4m old so she has her main teacher who I see when I drop her off but she leaves by 2 so she has 2 other teachers who are regulars that dh sees when he picks her up but then there are subs who take over when those 3 mains are not there.

Re: Spin off to daycare teacher gifts
My DD is not in daycare but I am a teacher. Not everyone will give gifts, so any amount is appreciated. I've never looked at a GC and been like "thats it?" Ive gotten plenty of $5 GCs to Starbucks and thats one less day I have to pay for my coffee. Don't feel like you need to spend any certain amount!
ETA I would buy for the mains, not the subs. If you wanted to you could do munchkins or something for all the teachers to include them but i dont think buying subs a gift is expected.

Spin off to daycare teacher gifts
I have always bought for the 3-4 teachers he's had in the classes he's been in because they all switch off spending time with DS even though there's typically 1 head teacher there.
I try not to spend too much more than $30 a piece. It's probably more than I should be spending but at the same time -- these are the people who are caring for my son way more than I am. I also know the staff where DS goes don't get paid what they probably deserve so it's a way to show appreciation.

Re: Spin off to daycare teacher gifts
i buy for the main teacher and the main assistants - I don't worry about the subs and the people that help occasionally - i'd have to get gifts for the whole daycare! i think for xmas last year i gave $50 -100 main teacher and 25 - 50 for assistants. It's probably more than necessary, but they take care of my DS everyday and he loves them!

Pretty much this. The main teacher I usually give $100 for Christmas. If she has a regular assitant teacher at the time- I give that one $50. That's it. No subs. No part time afternoon girls that change daily. And only at Chrsitmas time.

ITA with all of this. Also, a genuine thank you card is priceless!
