Re: spin-off to first B'day party posts
We are only having our immediate family, ad that alone is 40 people. DH is one of 7 siblings, all are married and most have children. So there is no way for us to ever have a "small" party... but I consider it small since it is only our immediate families. And I don't think it is an american thing. The italian part of my family always has big GTGS for everything. So does my polish side.

well, let me clarify... when I said 'immediate family', I meant DH, me and DS. Our siblings and DS's cousins I consider to be 'extended family'..... I can't imagine our extended families getting together for a kid's B'day party.... It's just not their style...

We always had extended family GTG for birthdays. So while you may think it's odd, I think it's odd not to Like someone else said, different strokes for different folks.
