Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I think I am still a "beginner." I don't cook nearly as much as I would like too, but I think I have a few dishes that I can make well - such as my homemade mac and cheese!

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I don't cook, DH does. He's ok but he needs to work on cutting down on the grease and garlic. Chat Icon

Baking, however, is my forte.

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I think I'm a pretty good cook. But I usually stick to recipes created by other people. I might do a little tweaking, but I don't really create anything on my own. But I'm really good at following directions.

ETA: I think I am a good cook... but I cook to my own tastes.

me too. I am all about the garlic. I also am a big tofu fan. DH seems to like my cooking. I know if it is a successful meal if the leftovers get eaten Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I think I am a good cook!! I have a few recipes that I have "made my own" over the years and people request them.

Hubby is usually pretty good about being honest. He'll let me know if something isn't my best.

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I'm good a baking and a decent cook. I don't really eat my own creations b/c I'm a vegetarian and they often involve meat, but people seem to like my stuff. DH, who is very blunt, tells when something isn't up to snuff!

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I'm a good cook, but I can only get better by doing.

I love baking more, but I cook dinner every night and I try new things once in a while.

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I am not a cook by any means - but I can manage to throw a meal together and have it taste good.

My Dh is a great cook - he is the main cook in our family, not me.

Well, DH is still alive, so I can't be that bad!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Seriously, I'm not "creative"; most of my meals are the same, no frills kind. Dh doesn't seem to mind.

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

I'm decent. I learn a lot from my mom (whom my father says he married because of her cooking Chat Icon drives her nuts!).

The key for me is staying relatively basic and using lots of different spices/herbs/marinades.

Re: Spinoff: Are you a good cook?

There are some dishes I make very well that are tasty, but there are some things I just get wrong every time, like rice - I mean how hard is it to mess up rice? Every time I make it comes out crap, so I now get the Uncle Bens one that you nuke in the microwave Chat Icon

I'm a great cook. If I wasn't people would stop comming around for Dinner or asking me to cook things and bring them to their houses! I love to cook.
