I even got back my FIT TV which got cancelled on Cablevision.

Actually we completely pulled the plug at home on TV for DS since Monday. It was getting completely out of control. Amazingly, he has been playing with his toys and read a lot more without the TV on. We ALL can survive without the TV.

That's fantastic! I am following the American Acad of Pediatrics and not really allowing DS to watch TV until 2 and I have to say, he is the biggest lover of books. I hate daytime TV and the background noise gives me a migraine.
My inb laws think I'm nuts for this, but I love our anti-tv house!

DH says that Abby can't watch TV til she's two. Except for football. Apparently, that doesn't count.
Honestly, I am simply going to pump house music through the surround sound and watch Abby BOOGIE. It sure beats any of those AWFUL shows that Joel McHale trashes weekly on The Soup.

Just FYI, my DD watches TV and is also a huge lover of books.
That said, I think it's great that you're doing that. Because, it seems, that once you introduce TV, there's no turning back!

That said, I think it's great that you're doing that. Because, it seems, that once you introduce TV, there's no turning back!
No you can go back to no TV. DS was getting completely obssessed with his show and wanted to watch for hours. I found it easier to cut it off alltogether since with him he cannot just watch 1 show. It's constant whining to watch another one and another one. If they TV is off, we do other things. It's more work for me but this is what it is.

Cailen only watches TV in the morning as I get ready for work. I will be honest.... It has been a lifesaver since he was 4 mts old. I vowed no TV until 2, but reality took over. In the evening he gets a show while I make dinner, and then the TV is off for the evening. When I'm in the room he wants to play or look At books. He is pretty well balanced...

first, i am sorry for all the parents that have kids that watch shows on the kid stations. Mine aren't old enough yet - we just introduced old school Sesame Street stuff on DVD - so Cookie Monster is a big hit
but, the thing that sux for us is the loss of VH1, and the missing of the premier of Rock of Love Bus Thankfully MIL has Cablevision and will tape it for us.
And I need her to tape TNA Wrestling for me on Spike as well
