Its tough to keep a clean house, work, raise children, cook etc. Its possible but then you don't have too much down time.
It's tough, but it can be done AND have down time. I also work close to home so I don't have to commute long hours. I DO sit by 8-9pm at night and do nothing else until the morning. We do the laundry on the weekends inbetween running around unless I have a day off. I clean on Saturday mornings while the laundry is in the washer and dryer and my dh is out running his errands. I do food shopping on Sun. morning so I have the rest of the day to do things with the family and/or running around to do other errands.
I have become more obsessed as I have gotten older to have a cleaner home and don't see why anyone should HAVE to leave dishes in the sink unless you need to tend to a child. As soon as a meal is done, I clean up. I would never just leave the dishes there all day.
Something always needs to be done. If I have the energy, I do it, if not, it waits until the next day.

Day to day it doesn't concern me.
It does make me crazy on some days though when it's gotten to be too much.
The problem is when it gets out of hand then it takes soooo long to clean.
that's how i feel too. I don't obsess about it daily.

My mom makes me crazy..she will be half an hour late ot churhc, work, or a fmaily event to do dishes or "Straighten up" it's really insane, she won't leave the house with her bed unmade or dishes in the sink. I am sooo not like that

Same here...I usually do a general cleaning on Friday nights and Saturday mornings and then just maintain it during the week...I have a dog and a doggy door in my house so I need to be on top of things...otherwise I'd be in trouble.

Why? Because I'm a germaphobe. I like living in a "clean" environment. I love when the house is at it's cleanest and there is no clutter or mess. That's just me!

For me
Cluttered house= Cluttered mind.
When I walk into my home & it's a mess, it just stresses me out.
I'm more relaxed when my home is neat & clean.
Our house is small however, & we have SO much stuff, so organization has become a problem, I'm learning to live with it I guess, but I try my hardest to keep things neat & clean.
I'm not OBSESSED, just try to keep up. Like other Mommy posters have said, baby/kids come first....So does FUN.
