Spinoff on running a red light - Do you stop at STOP signs?

I feel like I am the only one on LI that stops at STOP signs. I don't get it.

I read the DMV book, I keep reading it.... STOP means coming to a full stop. Not yield, slowing down.

What do you do when you see a stop sign?

I always stop, COMPLETELY. And then I roll up and look again. DH tells me I'm overly cautious, but I'll be damned if I get a ticket, or God forbid, hit someone or GET hit for not being too cautious.

I stop. But I'm ashamed to admit that when I was 20 yrs old, I got a ticket for not coming to a complete stop when I saw there wasn't anyone coming.

I let the car bounce a bit at the stop. That little "bounce" after the car stops lets me know that I've stopped my forward motion. I don't stay there as long as I probably should, but I *do* stop, if only for a millisecond...

I always stop - my grandmother was killed by someone that didn't - so this is a sore topic with me

I always stop. I was involved in a bad accident in 1993 when some jerk did not stop and hit us head on

I most certainly do. I got a $130 ticket when I lived in Rochester for doing the "NYC roll through" - that was the LAST time I did that!

knowing that other people dont stop or "roll through" is reason enough for me to stop.

It depends on where I'm at. I'm definitely guilty of the "California roll" (it's how I failed my driver's test the 1st time )

I always stop, cause ya never know who's gonna blow it. I hate it when you get to the stop sign first before the other person, and they don't even stop at there sign just to go before you and be first, drives me nuts!!!

I always come to a complete stop. Down here no one knows what a directional or stop sign is. And if you realy want to drive yourself crazy pull up to a 4 way stop. So I always come to a complete stop because their is always somone who didnt notice the big red sign that says stop

I always come to a compete stop. THere are tons of stop signs in my neighborhood and as a pedestrian I hate that so many drivers roll through the stop sign.

I can't count how many times a driver will roll through the stop sign and sit in the middle of the intersection waiting for me or other people to get across. I suppose those are better then the drivers that hit the gas to get across the intersection before I have a chance to get to that side of the street so I have to wait in the middle of the street with cars moving in front of and behind me.

I do a "rolling stop"

I was in a terrible car accident because an old lady ran through a stop sign. To me, there is no excuse for running a stop sign. People need to get over it and stop for two seconds.
