SPINOFF: PED WAIT TIMES..all the 15min waiters.. what time are you going?
Is it b/c Im going after work that I wait soooooooooooooooo crazy long!!!
what times are you going that it only takes 15 mins to get into the room?
and to repeat.. I find it completely unfair that I have to take off work to NOT WAIT AN HOUR to see a dr!!! out of 6 dr. you schedule two to work!!

I always go in first thing in the morning (esp. weekends) and anytime I've had to bring them in for a sick visit has been anywhere from around 2-5:30 in the afternoon.
Never had a problem going right in..
I take my kids to Woodbury Pediatrics.

It definitely has to be because the time that you go....
The latest appointment I've made was for around 11am....
What about sick visits? They don't start until 2pm.

We go between 5:30-6:30 after DH gets home from work. Always on a monday night, same dr.
He's only had 2 sick visits and we never had to wait longer than 10 mins for those too.

We always make DS' well visits early in the morning... between 8:30-9:30 AM. We haven't waited more than 15 mins. Knock on wood cause we're going on Tuesday!
We go to Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine in Holbrook.

I always have a 4pm or 4:15pm appointment and have never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room, well or sick visit.

I go 1st thing in the morning, or i try to get the last appt b4 there lunch.
If its a sick visit then its just whenever they can squeeze me in.

I take night appts during the week (or my ILs bring them during the day for a sick visit) or weekend appts. We've never had to wait more than 15/20 mins. We go to Mid Suffolk Pediatrics.

I have gone morning, noon, night, during the week and on weekends and I have NEVER EVER waited in the waiting room longer than 10 mins- and that's when they're squeezing me in for a sick visit. I have NEVER waited longer than 3mins for a well visit.
And a nurse comes to get us, takes vitals, etc and a Doctor is in the room within 2mins MAX.
ETA: i use bellmore merrick pediatrics.

ITA - part of it is mostly likely this. you get screwed by all the people who have shown up late throughout the day and it pushes everything back.

I always ask for first appt. of the day, and usually never even get to sit down because we are taken straight to a room. For sick visits, I ask for earliest/soonest appt (but we've been lucky that we haven't had too many sick appts).
I go to Friendly Medical Group in Stony Brook.
We did go to PM Pediatrics on a Sunday a couple weeks ago when DS had an ear infection and his ped. office was shut, and the wait was nearly 2 hours.

thank goodness we've only ever had 1 sick visit (knocking wood)....appt time was for 3:20 and DH and DD were home by 4pm....

AM or PM appointment doesn't matter. It's a rarity that I wait more than 15-20mins to see the doctor.

My ped is solo and I can count on one hand the number of times we've waited. And we go all different times, from first appt to last appt. He runs a tight ship. But we are never rushed out of there, he always answerrs all my questions.

I think we go to the same office and I usually go around 2 pm and it's hit or miss. Sometimes it's very quick and other times it's maybe 30 min wait.

With my older DD we go after school A LOT, so often it is between 4-6pm. I never wait more than 15 minutes unless there is some kind of emergency, which is very rare.

I never wait more than 10 min regardless of the time...Ive gone in the am. afternoon. and evening. I love my office - always in and out.
