Spinoff (sorta) to placenta teddy bear post
I know that some people save the piece of the umbilical cord that falls off the baby's belly button after a few weeks. IMO this is gross. What do you think?

I think ew! I pray DH is home to throw it out when it falls out so I don't have to touch it. Remember Miranda & the cat fiasco in SATC?

I used to think all that stuff was completely gross until my DD's umbilical stump fell off and I couldn't bear to throw it away. I still have it

My MIL kept my sons umbilical cord stump. She keeps the weirdest things.

i kept  s umbilical cord stump...its stashed away in a drawer somewhere, don't know why i saved it, but i can't throw that away!

I've heard of some people burying it underneath a newly planted tree. Giving life to the tree so to speak.
For us, it fell off in the diaper, I looked at it, showed DH and in the garbage it went.

I did not save DD's. I kind of felt bad about throwing it out, but it is just a scab and I could not see a reason to keep it.
