Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
Do you regret it in anyway? Do you have any scars you wish you didn't? I do (have a scar, not regrets)

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
No regrets...I felt great after both deliveries. I didn't have an epsiotomy for either so I was up and walking around within hours. DS left some stretch marks I would rather not have but that is the most that I have to complain of.

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
I can honestly say that my body feels the same way, in every way, that it did before I was pregnant or gave birth.
I have no stretch marks or scars -- I didn't have any tearing or an episiotomy during birth.
The first month or so afterward I was sore down there, but after that everything has been totally normal.
ETA: I have no regrets at all. I feel very fortunate to have had the birth I wanted. It was longer and tougher then I anticipated, but I was able to deliver drug and intervention free, which was what I wanted.

No regrets with either. I pushed for less than 30 minutes with both, no tearing, didn't need an episiotemy and felt pretty good and was walking around shortly after!

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
I had a great delivery too - all natural, drug-free, and very quick. It was pretty painless too - a little ouch here and there - but at my 6wk appt my MD explained what really happened to my body due to such a quick delivery - she didn't want to tell me when I delivered b/c she didn't know how it would heal - apparently, sometimes things almost rip off in such a case

Yikes, sorry to hear that. It took me 2 1/2 hours to push DS out -- althought it felt like forever, the up side was that it gave everything lots of time to slowly stretch.

I delivered in a teaching hospital and I had a doctor down there stretching my out. That is probably the only reason I was able to push a 10lb baby out in 3 pushes without an episiotomy.
I'm glad you felt good though.

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
Nah. I was happy with my birth. I was induced, and actually was in a drug induced sleep for most of the labor--they woke me up to push! I pushed for an hour, had a 2nd degree tear, but that never really hurt. I was awalking around 3 hours later.
I have regrets about my pregnancy, actually, there was nothing I could do about it, but I wish I had had a better one

They stretched you out? How does that work? The part of me that almost fell off couldn't have been stretched (nor did I think it needed to be). But I started contracted lightly at 6AM, go to the hospital at 10AM or later and was 9cm - 2 pushes and he was born at 10:24AM. My MD at the time, just said something "unusual" had happened !

They have their hands kind of in your va-jay-jay and pull you open. They did it with both my deliveries. I tore alittle with each because they came out with an arm raised.

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
I don't regret my experience at all! I have stretch marks which aren't cute and I did have a second degree tear, but everything worked out fine! I wouldn't have changed anything about my pregnancy or the birth process. My doctor told me that I should have lots more babies because she likes patients like me.

I had a great delivery... couldn't have asked for better.
I was lucky that I was able to deliver both of them vaginally. The last part of my labor was quick and they were born three minutes apart... 6 pushes and 3 pushes

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
Although I had a bad birthing experience from start to finish, I do not regret anything! I had an episiotomy and healed 100%...not one stretch mark to be found, and was up and about within hrs of delivering vaginally. The vagina just amazes me!

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
I had the episiotomy, which was my biggest fear throughout the whole pregnancy (thanks to jury duty for a medical malpractice case 10 years before....). And honestly, it wasn't that bad. I took a few days to really heal, and I didn't walk aroudn much in the hospital...going to the bathroom was scarier that I ever could have imagined. But I feel pretty normal down there again. Everything heals.

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
My first child was a vbirth and it was a great experience. I was in labor for about 6 hours and pushed for just over an hour but it was OK. I felt great the next day and was back in my old pants within a week. And it was a great pregnancy too. I was very lucky all around. I had c/s with the following 2, both were breech, and recovery was harder. No regrets with any.

Nope, no regrets... My scar in so low that i even forget I have it. The whole process and recovery was fine. ( at least for me) I was up walking around right away.

Nope, no regrets. I had a great birth experience. I had a 3rd degree tear, but I went from 5 cms to 10 cms in less than an hour. But it healed.

Re: Spinoff to all the c-section threads for those who delivered naturally...
4 deliveries...all natural with no meds...all I have to say is that it is difficult getting out the 2nd twin without drugs. BUT...I wouldnt do it any other way. It was great to be up and walking around shortly after. Then again I do have very short labors and quick births...I dont know if I could do it if I had long labors.

You mean Vaginally I think.

I delivered naturally - drug-free - but no biggie if people took it another way.
