yup, and he "scolded me", but not really. he's not allowed to tell me it's okay, but didn't make a huge deal out of it either...
once babies can turn themselves over he doesn't care, but DD#2 was belly sleeping since day 2...

Re: spinoff to babies sleeping on their bellies...
My ped when we lived on Staten Island when DS was a nb insisted that he nap on his belly to prevent his head from getting getting flat.
My current ped said that since DS had good neck control, sleeping on his belly was ok.

Re: spinoff to babies sleeping on their bellies...
I asked my Dr about belly sleeping and he shared some very scary statistics with me. He did not say "not" to do it but after hearing the numbers I couldn't do it. I love my Dr as he gives me the facts and lets me make my own decisions. He has been a dream to work with. I live in NC fyi

They didn't ask, I didn't tell. It was only for naps and I watched him the whole time. Once he could roll over they told me it was fine.

I did because my DD was rolling at under 3 months both ways-i put her in the crib at just under 5 months and she sleeps only on her tummy and rolls all night long..once they are rolling, i dont worry because she is fine..plus at 4 months sids is on the lower side and once they roll you really cant stop em

Once he could roll over on his own, his pediatrician was fine with it. Before that, he slept on his back.

I did, he didn't say it was right or wrong but he still recommended that I continue with the sleeping on the back until he was able to roll over. Statistics are statistics. The one thing that I was concerend about having DC sleep on his back is the what if he vomitted a little. I made sure he was burped very well and I had him upright for at least 20 minutes before I put him down.

Re: spinoff to babies sleeping on their bellies...
NOPE!!! ds has been sleeping on his tummy since birth (on our chest)
he was a terrible sleeper if we tried to swaddle or put in the bassinet..
he has been a GREAT tummy sleeper, in his crib, since 10 weeks...
