Spinoff to Cereal basics - Cereals for gassy babies!
DS will be starting cereals. I asked the ped WHY I should give him cereals and not start with veggies right away.
He said that cereals had Iron in it and that around his age (5.5 months) he would start depleat of it. So I agreed to give it a try.
Which cereal is good for gassy babies?

I skipped cereal and now give DD oatmeal. It's fortified with iron as well. DD got VERY gassy and bound up with the rice. So now I mix it (oatmeal) with homemade applesauce and BM.
And yes, your PED was right about losing the iron.

I only use oatmeal and I try to give the most iron fortified fruits and veggies b/c Noah doesnt like any cereals much.
