Spinoff to CIO post....
Exactly why did you do CIO? Was it because he couldnt fall asleep on his own and needed to be rocked or was it the night waking needing a bottle, etc.?
Just wondering....pretty soon we will be doing the same, im sure since DS doesnt STTN yet.

Re: Spinoff to CIO post....
We did it for naps because ds couldn't fall asleep on his own without being bounced to sleep. It was exhausting and 5 minutes soon became 15 minutes, then 20, then 30, etc.
We also did CIO at nighttime too a few weeks later because ds was getting up 5 times a night for over 2 months. Enough was enough. He only needed to eat once a night and we were okay with waking once a night. But not 5.

Re: Spinoff to CIO post....
We did it because 10 months of broken sleep is about all I could take before I was about to poke my eyes out. She slept great for naps, but was waking at night.
We are about to start CIO for my second next week (coincidently she'll be 10 months old as well).
I breed chil'rns who don't sleep at night apparently.

Re: Spinoff to CIO post....
DD was always a great sleeper. I stopped rocking her to sleep around 4 months and she was always fine falling asleep on her own.
But once she hit the seperation anxiety stage she started crying when we left the room, so thats when we started cio. for naps and for nighttime.
