Jack said dada with meaning at about 12 months and then his next real work was duck at 14 months. He's always been on the later side with verbal milestones.

DS's first word in context was "cat" at 11 months. Now at a day shy of 15 months he has about 8 words in context.

Re: Spinoff to First Words- when did they say it?

DD has been saying dadada mamama and bababa since about 5 mos old, but I don't count those. Even tho now she seems to say maaaamaaa when she wants me. She is 8 mos today and imo has not said her first "official" word. DS said clock at 9 mos, when asked what's that or when he spotted one somewhere.

Re: Spinoff to First Words- when did they say it?

DD started saying Mama at 6 months - I thought she was just babbling and by coincidence it sounded like mama but others noticed it and when I would leave the room and come back in she would say it too. She said Dada at 7 months which is now daddy Baba at about 9 months and last week she started saying Hi @ 11 months

I also didn't count a word until she used it in proper context. Charlie's first word was 'dada' at 7m...then mama, cat, Lucy (our cat's name) & ball all followed by 8 months.
