Spinoff to Laid Off

It seems a lot of us would be the first to volunteer...beg, borrow or steal...to get laid off. What do you do for a living? List your top 3 reasons for wanting out:

I work at a scrap metal company in Brooklyn. I am a Controller aka ap/ar, payroll, hr and resident therapist!

1) My commute
2) Work starts at 6am...that means I wake up at 5am when its still dark out !
3) Ummmm my commute!!

I would not volunteer to be laid off, but if I did, my commute would also be the main factor. It's too far.

I work for a radio advertising company.

1. My commute sux

2. Company is not doing well-they just laid off 100 people between all our offices.

3. Have not gotten a raise in 2 yrs!!

1. crappy vacation time
2. job has evolved into job VERY different from original job description
3. hate commuting (but I think I wouldn't mind if I was going to a job I liked)

ummmm. i am a nurse so pretty obvious...
!. long hours 12 hours at a time
2. vacation time
3. emotionally draining and physically draining
4. the early rise, i have to be there at 7 am.

I basically have the same duties as Emakamrsk I work in a precision grinding shop

If I could support my family I would be estatic to get laid off

1. Less Stress

I wouldn't at this job-- but at my last job:

- Stress
- Hours
- Feeling Unfulfilled


I work in advertising/marketing and some agencies are just really crappy to work for. They demand more hours and more of you while saying that a work/life balance is key-- then you are working 60 hour work weeks and basically nothing else besides work, or work related activities. If I was 23 and paying my dues I would accept it. But at 31, a newlywed-- and thinking about a family in a couple of years-- there would be no way to sustain that level of working. I felt that I needed to get out and establish myself at a place that allowed me to breathe- and to eat dinner before 9:30.

I am a special ed teacher in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

1. To have more time to spend with my daughter.
2. So I wouldn't have to commute anymore.
3. So I would have more time to finish my master's instead of being on a tight time-schedule for it.

I love my current job, but hated my last job because:

-Boss took credit for all of my work and blamed me for her mistakes
-Stress
-Monotony of the job

I'd leave mainly because of
~The Pay
~ I feel we deserve more days off. We work our arses off to please everyone.
~The Pay

I work in the child care field. I LOVE my kids and look forward to see who I will have in Sept. but I do wish we went more on a "school calendar" schedule. We cant though because day care needs to be open pretty much all the time. We do get Christmas week, but, we use our own time for that.

If I were to leave it would be because:

1. Bonuses here stink for underlings
2. I have had to fight like hell for p-ay raises
3. I always need more vacation time because they do not give sick leave

1. The job I was hired for, has turned into something else.
2. My boss is an a-hole
3. I am underpaid
4. Company follows a very "machismo" attitide

the list is endless that is why I am going to get out as soon as I can

since I got fired- here are the reasons why I don't care

1- no real promotion or rasie, bonus structure
2- no structure period, chaos
3- crappy vacation and sick time
4- crazy boss who changes his mind evry day, never there- one day tells you to wait for him, then next day do it with out hime
5- neptism to the 10th degree

I could go on and on
