Re: Spinoff to Plastic Surgery Post

I had a boob job about 10yrs ago. Don't regret the decision to do it and after I'm done having kids I'll have 'em put back up.

ETA: Your teeth look beautiful!!!

I put 'other'. I had veneers put on my teeth, which isn't really surgery, but it was a pretty big process and it's not reversible, my real teeth were 'ground' to accommodate the veneers. I'll even put a before and after! IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. I don't think for a second it was selfish or vain of me. I wouldn't smile because I was embarrassed, now I do. I don’t have low self esteem, but I was very embarrassed at how my teeth looked.

Your teeth look fantastic now! See, I wasn't even thinking of veneers or something like that as plastic surgery. I would definately get work done on my teeth, before I'd consider other types of plastic surgery.

Re: Spinoff to Plastic Surgery Post

I guess I should answer my own post.

Ive never had plastic surgery.

I wouldn't have a boob job or a face lift or anything like that I don't think.

If I had a huge scar that could be corrected or lessed, or if I ever lost a HUGE amount of weight (which I do have a lot to lose, just don't know sometimes if I'll ever get there Chat Icon ) and I needed to have extra skin removed, I'd do it.

That's why I put 'other' Chat Icon I am not sure if it is, either! I mean it's definitely elective & cosmetic, and there can be complications and/or negative side effects, so I figured I'd volunteer it!

Re: Spinoff to Plastic Surgery Post

I haven't had any plastic surgery but will definitely consider a tummy tuck/lipo and a breast lift once I'm through my child bearing years.

I've had lasik, which I'm not sure qualifies as plastic surgery.

I voted "not yet, but planning on it", though it is more like: no concrete plans to have any, but wouldn't rule it out.

Not sure if you consider a bunionectomy plastic surgery but I had both feet done. It was for aesthetics & some pain.

I'm a not yet but maybe in the future. I might look into getting my stomach done and a boob lift if I'm unhappy with them after I'm done having kids. I don't think I could ever get implants or do anything to my face though.

yes and yes and I will do it again. I have a conservative surgeon who won't operate on me unneccessarily.

Never have and probably never will.

However, the whole veneers thing I would do in a heartbeat. I wouldn't call that costmetic "surgery". I would do anything to love my teeth if I had the money Chat Icon

I never have and can't imagine I ever will. I'm terrified of surgery, I lost one grandmother on the OR table and the other slipped into a month long coma on the OR table. Both situations were due to anesthesiologist error. They were in different hospitals in different states, but still freaks me out.

Never have. I am terrified of being put under (I have never been) so I don't think i'd every have plastic surgery for that reason.

Re: Spinoff to Plastic Surgery Post

I put yes. I had a deviated septum repaired and a small bump removed from my nose. The front of my nose, nostrils, tip, etc remained the same, untouched, therefore, people would never think I had any kind of nose surgery.

It improved my profile, which I always disliked but it far from made me miserable. It was just something I wanted to do...and I have never regretted it.

I would do other kinds of surgery if I felt they were something that would improve my life, as long as I did proper research and felt the risks were minimal.
