Same here. Even on the auto setting the pics are fantastic.

I've taken 1,000+ pics in the 4 weeks I've had my camera Chat Icon

I have a Nikon D50. I would recommened the D80 (for more advanced users and photography) or a D40 for a beginner or casual use.

My two main reasons are as follows: the pictures come out so crisp and clear. what you see through the viewfinder is what your pic will look like. my favorite thing is that there no delay when you snap the picture. It snaps it right away. I'd hate to think that I lost a moment or a certain facial expression on one of the kids' faces because the stupid shutter took so long, you know? Chat Icon

ITA, couldn't say it better. Plus, on a personal note, the lighting in my house stinks, and with my point-and-shoot camera all the night time indoor pics were yellow b/c of the lighting. My d40 makes the coloring PERFECT with just the basic flash! Chat Icon

YES!!! Exactly! just think of it as a regular old school 35mm but it's digital and of course, you have the option of setting it manually or just setting it on auto and having the camera do it for you.Chat Icon
