Spinoff to Teachers: NYC Teachers Mat. Leave Question
If you take the 12 weeks under FMLA, does that mean that you would no longer get paid over the summer?
I really wanted to take 12 weeks. I have enough days in my bank to get paid for the first 30 days, but don't know how I feel about giving up summer pay, too. Anyway,I heard this from a friend (who is not pregnant, but heard it from another friend) and was just wondering if anyone had an answer or past experience. Thanks!

I'm in a similar situation. I have the days to get paid for the lat week of April and May but not June. Whatever time you take off without pay will be deducted but you will still get summer pay because you've worked this far into the year already. But it will be reduced.
