Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
Are girls this way? Obviously I only know boys, and my family is 90% boys so I don't have anything to compare it to.
Do you little girls play chase, run, jump, yell loud, and tackle each other?
This is something I'm very curious about. I wasn't sure if it was the age, or the fact that they are boys.

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
Ann's favorite pass time right now is for DH to yell "HIKE" and she runs as fast as she can and dives on him.
She also likes to put a towel, a shirt, whatever, over her head and yell and run

My DD is a maniac (but she has an older brother leading the way )
My SD was very mellow(has no older brothers) ...I think sometimes birth order (gender wise) can constiutute some of the dynamics in a house...

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
My DS is actually cautious, more mellow and gentle, and not really a rough-housing type at all.
My DD, on the other hand, chases, jumps and climbs on everything, is more aggressive by nature, etc.
The roles are totally reversed!!

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
My girls can rough house and wrestled etc, but I do not think it is the same. Being the class mom every year for Jordan, I am around groups of boys. All I can say is OMG! (I am generalizing here) but they are soooooooo much more rambunctious. The girls can be loud, but the boys are rowdy. They tend to be more hands on and aggressive then the girls. Of course there is always one or two quiet boys, but generally .

DD is a daredevil. She will jump from the hassack to the couch which scares the crap out of me. She also has tried several times to "slide" into the bathtub She jumps, runs, climbs and tackles. She is crazy!

C isn't really like this. She's very athletic, but it's channeled for when she's outside, running/kicking/etc. She'll randomly jump over my furniture, but that's about it.

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
We have runners over here!
They run around in circles after each other and race. Bella loves to run laps around the house, the faster the better.
They wrestle with DH and he's teaching them how to "jab - cross" (I swear he'd have them in UFC if he could)

Katherine is not like that at all. She is super-girly. Abby is a wild animal, so yes! However, they don't wrestle with one another, etc. They don't play like boys at all, but they do chase after one another and run around the house pretty regularly.

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
oh yes, 2 out of 3 do.
I don't think of it as a boy or a girl thing. i think of it as a temperment thing.
My oldest DD is mellow. and my middle and youngest DD are wild child's.
My 20 months old will jump climb, beat up, and do whatever she has to do and i see her 7 months old sister following in her footsteps since at 7 months she's already realized that to get what she wants she has to take it from her sis.
We have all nephew's in both mine and DH's side so we are the only girls. As my Middle DD is always compared to her boy cousin(who is also a wild child), all that we hear is how she's going to be beating him up soon, since she is just sooo much more crazy and daring.
My best friend has a son who is sooo calm and laid back. So i don't alway know if it is boy/girl thing. I think it may be more of a temperment thing.

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
Oh yeah.. ask my sister how I used to beat the crap out of her. We used to fight every day, & made huge holes in the walls from throwing eachother into the wall Its funny now to think about some of our fights.

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
My niece who is 3 weeks older than DS runs and screams(very high pitched screaming), but she isn't much of a tackler. She is more of the sly, sneaky aggressor
It was usually like this....she'd get in DS' face and do something that no one would see and DS would shove her off him and he'd get in trouble kind of thing. DS on the other hand would run up and give her a tackle hug and they'd both fall and she would get hurt.

Re: Spinoff to the boys post - little girl mommies come in
DD is 19 months and she has been climibing, jumping off her bed, trying to put things in the electric outlets, opening and slamming the draws, throwing food across the table and banging her head on the floor when she gets tired or angry. So yea.....this has been going on for three months.
She likes to kick people right now. Not sure what that's about?! We play soccer wtih her...I guess eh thinks kicking balls and people are the same. She also likes to play tackle, push me to the ground and step on me. She thinks its funny LOL
