Spinoff to the cheerleader at the door thread... those people with the rubbermaid bins
Who are they!? They always, always, always come to my door. I can never understand what organization they are with either because they talk so low or fast and all I hear is we need money. Idk if you know who I am talking about but they carry a rubbermaid bin full of candy or toys and you have to donate. I also never have cash on me (good thing because I am a sucker and always give in to these things) and before I get a chance to say that I don't have money they are going on and on about how the money goes towards trips or youth or whatever, I don't even listen because the entire time they are talking I am trying to find a spot to jump in and let them know that I don't have money so stop talking... ugh
I cringe when I am driving home and see them walking down one of the blocks in the neighborhood and prey that they don't come to my door

On the few occasions I have opened the door - or they walk i my office door - they same it's some "kids club" or something.
I don't buy stuff either - alot of the time if you look in the bin it looks like they've picked up a few things at Family Dollar and they are peddling. I'm no sure it's a legitimate thing. My co-worker got sucked into buying a box of candy. After the kid left with her $10 - she opened the box and it was moldy and we couldn't find the kid in the parking lot of the office.

I think its a scam.
Three kids tried to break into my house a few days after these kids with the bins were selling candy. The kids came around on MLK day and DH was sleeping and didnt answer the door, so we think they were around scoping out the area.
Cops said these "organizations" drop a group of kids off in a neighborhood in some creepy van and then takes them home when they are done with their selling. A creepy van was seen in my neighborhood the day of the attempted break in. I wasnt home when they were selling or when they tried to break in, but from what the cops said and what my neighbors said, we believe it was the same kids.
Now I dont know if what happened to me had anything to do with the "organization" since they never caught the kids. My neighbor actually scared them away right before they broke my back door.
