Spinoff to the moms committment - diet related
Realistically - how much can one person lose in a month?
I never really get on the scale - I just go by how my clothes fit and how I think I look - but if I think I could lose say 5lbs - I would get on the scale and keep track.
If I can only lose - say 2lbs in a month I won't bother getting on the scale.
So - how much can one person really lose in a month?

On an average you should lose no more than 1-2 Lbs per week.
So 5 Lbs is attainable!

They say 1.5 to 2 lb. a week is a healthy loss. I'm hoping for more...no, actually begging.

Realistically between .5 - 1lb a week, maybe as high as 2lb. Any more is often too quick and you run the risk of gaining it back. You need to create a 3500calorie deficit (diet &/or exercise) to lose 1lb of fat.

No you don't get rid of them. You just "give" them to me.

I agree with the pp - 1-2 lbs a week is reasonable.

No way! I was kidding. I am actually thinking about joining a gym not far from me. It's $19 per month for 3 days per week. That's do-able for me. I want to look if they have a "daycare" though.

It depends on how much you weigh. 1-3 lbs is normal.. but the heavier you are the more quickly you lose weight initially. Especially if you are making a drastic kind of lifestyle change. I have lost 20lbs -25 lbs in a month - and then evened out after that.

I was a WW girl and depending on how much you have to lose and how dedicated you are, I've seen people lose 5lbs a week!
However, the healthy approach is 1-2 lbs /week but I think that is for people closer to their goal weight
