Spinoff to the things no one tells you.

You will feel like superwoman...maybe not after or even a month after but when you look back on it you will realize how powerful you are for giving birth.

Things will not change down there...your hoo hah does not get bigger and stay bigger.

Your boobies may grow and to some that may be a good thing.

You do it again bc after all the horror, you have a beautiful baby and that is the most amazing thing in the whole wide world. Makes going through everything all worth it!

Spinoff to the things no one tells you.

I had a -section and had almost zero pain and had a great recovery. Was driving a few days after leaving the hospital, walked up and down stairs the minute I got home. Never took more than a Motrin after my drugs wore off in the hospital. So for every "I was in so much pain" there are just as many good stories out there.

The epidural is heaven. You will want to marry the anesthesiologist!

You do feel like superwoman for having done it. There is nothing you can't do after giving birth

I left the hospital not looking pregnant at all and was in my regular jeans in a week- so sometimes your body does go right back.

I had a few stitches but I was fine. And I am a huge baby. I was driving the Sunday after I had her on a Tuesday. I was 100% myself with no pain or soreness at all in a week.

My periods regulated for the first time in my life!

My csection recovery overall was a LOT better than anticipated!

For me the most positive thing that I could never be prepared for what the overpowering feelings of love I had/have for my DS. It literally takes my breath away sometimes. Everyone goes into motherhood assuming they will love their kids unconditionally but no words of advice from a BTDT can prepare you for just how deep those feelings go.

Spinoff to the things no one tells you.

It is by far the greatest feeling to hold your baby for the first time.

Enjoy the nb baby smell. They should bottle it up.

As far as birth goes, I can't really think of anything positive lol. It's childbirth! I will say, for me anyway, that the actual pushing, birthing, and then placenta birth were absolutely terrifying for me to think about before going through it, like to the point of near hyperventilation, and it really wasn't nearly as bad as I made it out to be in my head. Of course I had an epi which was the best decision I ever made. I didn't feel a damn thing! Amazing!

Also, I had difficulty conceiving DD (2.5 years). I'm currently pregnant with an oops bc we didn't use a condom one time. So for me, I became more fertile lol (may be good news for some lol).

Also, from the time I conceived to my 6wpp checkup, I lost 50lbs. I had to go out after the swelling went down and buy all new clothes. At 19w pregnant (and significantly showing), my old pre-preg clothes are still too big.

By far, my favorite part of the whole thing was when it was just me and her in the room afterwards. She slept on my chest both nights and I can't even explain the happiness.

Yup, this was me.... I was even ready to fool around with DH 1 week later - and we did (obvi not sex, but other stuff). DS is 5 months old and I was at a christening yesterday and saw so many preggos and I just was missing being preggo so much! But I'm hoping I can (a) make it full term and (b) if my BP remains under control, I'd love to try for the VBAC, so I have another few months of waiting before TTC again.

You will be taught what love really is by birthing a small person and will love him or her more than anyone (including yourself!).

You will change. You will grow and mature.

When you hear your baby cry for the first time is the best sound in the world.

You will eventually forget what the pain feels like, you will only remember that you were in pain.

All the pain, blood (lots of blood), sweat, and tears are all worth it.

Epidural is amazing! They never turned mine off! As a matter of fact my dr kept asking if I wanted and extra dose of it while I was pushing. I took it once. My first was easy squeezy and I inly pushed for 45 mins. My second I had almost zero pain from the beginning bc they gave me the epi before I hit 4cm. I labored without even knowing it!!

I tore, but the cramping while breastfeeding was worse than the after pain of tearing! The first 7 hours after delivery for both my dc were sore, but started to diminish quickly after that. The first time I walked around my block the day I got home, the second I took my older dd to a birthday party 2 days being home! Not everyone is out of commission that long.

You still feel contractions for the placenta, but when it comes out, I immediately felt like a million dollars!! I think I repeated like 3 times "omg I feel so much better". Lol

I'd do it again bc in the grand scheme of it all its really not that bad because it's temporary and worth it! Everyone I know that's had kids say the same. You forget the bad stuff almost immediately. 2 weeks postpartum for me I was already talking about number 3!

Eta: if you have a lot of pregnancy symptoms ie: heartburn, ligament pains, long lasting congestion, generally not feeling yourself... It ALL disappears immediatly!!!

Breastfeeding doesn't always hurt. I never had pain either time.

My cs recovery was pretty easy, I'm even tempted to say easier than my vaginal recovery.

My first delivery was uneventful and I was in and out of the hospital quickly. My second was a preemie, cs, I was in the hospital 5 days and she was there 8 days. I have to say I was so pampered the whole time I was there. The nurses and aids were at my side in 30 seconds every time I hit my button. They brought everything I could possibly need and even had to go on searches for things like contact solution and cups to put my contacts in bc I brought nothing with me. They washed my pump parts for me when DH was not with me and I couldn't get up easily. They cheered me every time I gave them a container of breastmilk to put in the fridge like I was superwoman for pumping so much. It definitely helped to feel so supported, looking back I don't know how I wasn't in tears half the time.

This. DD1 and I were watching a cartoon the other day where the mom was giving birth and was crying and DD asked me if I was going to cry and if it will hurt when I go to have the baby. My response was it will hurt, but I would do it a million times over for my kids! All of the pain of child birth and pregnancy is worth it the minute you hold your baby in your arms. And the love just grows everyday. You think you know love but no feeling compares to the love you will have for your child.

C&P what I said in the other thread:

The one thing I cannot wait for is that amazing, insane, cloud 9 high you get after you have the baby. They should figure out a way to bottle that feeling, it would make so much money!

Spinoff to the things no one tells you.

Like a pp said, some people leave the hospital and fit into their Prepregnancy clothes pretty quickly. This was me. Within one week, all my clothes fit me again. Now at 12 months post partum, I'm 10 pounds lighter than Ive ever been and I was skinny to begin with (thank you breastfeeding).

The moment your child is born will be one you remember forever. I cried tears of happiness the minute he was born.

I walked out thinner than pre-preggo by almost 40 pounds... I've since gained weight, despite BFing! I need WW and I think I'm going to start next month...

The bleeding- at least for me- was not that bad. The first few days in the hospital, yeah, but it's nothing you can't handle. It's just gross. Mine slowed down a lot by the time I got home.

Yes! But, mine started and stopped a few times. And, despite bfing and pumping, I started getting my period back ASAP, every 6 weeks like clockwork.
