Spinoff to what no one told you....
Okay because we BTDT mommies scared all the new one's...I think we need to also reassure that all the scary stuff is worth it. So no one told me that once my son let out his first cry that I would cry so hard I couldn't breathe. No one told me that he would have the sweetest breath ever. That I would crave that smell as he got older. Add yours

Re: Spinoff to what no one told you....
No one told me how good they smell, how much I would love him, how much I would miss him when I was away from him. No one told me how protective I would be of him, and how much I would just want to watch him sleep.
No one told me that I would completely forget the pain I went through, and want to have another right away!

no one tells you, that when you look at this little creature you and your DH made, that it would be the most amazing feeling in the world It is worth ALL the pain/discomfort associated with the pregnancy and labor

If it was really that bad, some of us wouldn't be doing this a second, third (etc) time around.

See, we need a thread like that. Stories of quick, easy and simple births and quick recoveries. To make us feel better. I can't hear about roids, tears, blood and guts, and incontinence anymore!

I called my mom. She had two natural births and "loved" every minute of them...
I was a twin, although my sister had passed due to complications, but she pushed out three without caring.
My mom told me she barely bled after too...and that shes positive that my baby will be tiny like i was lol
Kinda made me feel a little better...

my mom gave birth to me in a regular hospital room b/c she was nowhere near labor when she checked in. . .and less than a half hour later I was born - a nurse delivered me as the doctor ran into the room. She asked if she should keep pushing, and they said the baby is out - she had no idea ( no time for drugs ).
When my sister had her second, she asked them to check to see if she was progressed enough for an epidural. . . she was already crowning.
everyone recovered just fine, neither had a roid in their life and their babies are perfection (especially ME!)

Re: Spinoff to what no one told you....
This is my favorite part of my birth story:
'The baby came right out, and they put the baby on my stomach to get him to cry and to get him moving. I heard that crying and looked at him, and just said, "Hello my sweetie, I'm your mommy!"'
Best.feeling.ever! Makes me tear up remembering it every time.

My mom had two natural births also and she "looooved" giving birth. Compared it to an ****** actually. She barely bled after also. Hopefully we share similar stories one day with our children!

Re: Spinoff to what no one told you....
I agree with the other BTDT Mommies. No one told me that the minute my DS came out and I hear him cry that all the pain of labor was taken away better than any drug they could have given me.
Having him just stare into my eyes made me melt.

Re: Spinoff to what no one told you....
Okay here is one. No one told me that the build was way worse than the actual experience. I was so freaked out going into it that I mentally tripped myself up. I literally went to the doc and found out I was having contractions, my water, was broken and I was dialiated to 4. They started pitocin and I opted for the EPI because I will be honest the Pitocin made the contractions bad. But after that I had an amazing experience minus vomitting. But like I said once you have them you forget easily. Also remember if it was THAT bad NO woman would have more than one child

Re: Spinoff to what no one told you....
Your baby is the absolute softest and warmest thing ever, I was afraid that my hands were too rough to even touch my daughter when she was first born. But I held her close anyway and kissed her so, so much. And babies come out with the sweetest smell, like nothing else. Not powder, not lotion, it's just something.
My second kid came flying out in two pushes. I never had a hemroid (sp?). I had two episi. but that hasn't seemed to make a difference in peeing and whatnot. EPidurals are great, but even if you don't/can't get one you can and will do what you need to do to have your baby.
You get ear plugs at the hospital and you're not afraid to use them, because the baby is sleeping safely in the nursery.
Always makes this pad called Infinity which is way better than what they give you at the hospital. You feel kind of normal wearing these.
WHether or not you lose the weight, I know I felt like I would never hate my body again (not only because I have daughters and feel responsible for instilling in them positive body image) but because I had a baby! Look what my body did/made, muffin top and cellulite be damned!
