I'm sorry your mother is giving you such a hard time. YOU do what YOU think is best for your daughter. DO NOT doubt yourself... mother's intuition is the strongest thing there is.
People in our parents generation do not understand breastfeeding. Still to this day( my DD is 2y.o) my MIL will 'wonder aloud' if Maddie had jaundice because of the breast milk. No , she had jaundice b/c 50% of babies have jaundice!Chat Icon Way to be supportive , though- thanks!
She also kept asking me about pablum and when I started with the rice cereal for reflux, she wondered aloud agian if it was too much.
I absolutely agree with the pp who said that maybe your daughter is sensing your mothers anxiety about feeding her. My DD was like this with my DH for a while until he got more comfortable with an infant.
Your aunt was totally out of line and that would have made me want to whip my ta tas out right then and there. As a matter of fact, I would put that on my 'to do ' list whenever she's around.
