Spinoff...if your parents were married very young, are they still together?
Just curious. Mine got married because my mom got pg with me at 18...they divorced after 20 years of marriage and 6 kids later...
I know couples can stay together when "thrown" into situations like that but I feel it's rare...

Yes, my parents got married at 18. My mom was 3 months pregnant with my brother. They are still happily married after 37 years.

My parents got married at 21 and yes are still married. They will be married 40 yrs in March.

no. My parents got married at 19. They had my brother and I a couple of years after they got married so they weren't 'forced' to get married though.
I got married at 18 (DH had just turned 19) I hope that we will be one of the young couple's to make it!

My parents got marrired in their early 20s. I don't think that was "young" for back then.
They have been married for 45 years and still going strong.

No. My Parents were 19 and 24 when they were married, divorced after 5 years. My mom was not pg when they got married.

Yes... my parents were married @ the age of 20. 34 years later, and they are still as goofy as ever

My parents were 21 when they got married. They had my sister a year later (not pregnant when married). I came 3 years later. Next May, they will be married 40 years. Although they have had their ups and downs, they are still married

No - they divorced when I was in college but are still VERY close (we still celebrate all events with both parents and my mom's 3-yr old from her current marriage calls my dad uncle).

It's nice to read that a lot of the marriages worked out
And it's not to say that age determines length of marriage b/c people divorce everyday at all ages...just interesting to see statistics.

That is such an ideal situation!! I WISH my parents were like that. They cannot be in the same room with exception of weddings/christenings etc...even then it is tension filled...it stinks!

My parents got married at 22/23 (they got engaged after dating 6 weeks!). They'll be married 40 years in October.
It wasn't a "forced situation" though - the engagement was 1.5yrs and they didn't have kids until a few years later.

my parents were 20 and 23. she had me after 10 years and 1 day of being married. (my mom had issues getting pg.) they have been through hell and back together and after 42 years they are seriously happier than they have EVER been.

My parents got married at 17 and 18.. they are still together... almost 30 years now And growing up my whole life I've never heard them fight or say anything mean to each other

No. My parents married at 19 (mom) and 22 (dad). Mom was pregnant with me. They divorced about 5 years later.
