SPR: How do you manage your laundry?

I just cannot deal with laundry lately. I try to do a load a night, but putting away gets to me everynight.

How do you manage?

I do all my laundry friday nights (I know, right, how fun!!). This way I'm not rushing through it. I start at 9AM and finish Saturday AM. I do about 3-4 loads a week.

I'm the wrong person to answer...

I let it pile up and then wash all I can on Friday and let it sit the whole weekend until I can find time to fold and if lucky put away some time during the week!



DH just decided we should use the timer feature on our washer so he'd been trying to set a load to go off an hour before we get home so we can put right in dryer. Takes care of the washing/drying part, but not the folding and putting away!

I'm lucky enough to have a washer that fits an obscene amount of clothes but everyone gets a day...the kids and me. Chris does his own laundry so I don't have to worry about him.

I feel l ike im constantly doing laundry. Especially the girls laundry.. I blink and the basket is full again.

I just did 2 loads of our clothes last night, that should get us to next week. We do DS's laundry once a week, usually on a Saturday or Sunday night.

eta: Ask me again in 2/3 years when DS changes clothes every 2 minutes and leaves them on the floor-just because.

We try to keep on top of it but here is how us usually goes:

We wash all the laundry throughout the week. When I take a load out of the dryer I dump it on the bed in the spare room and close the door.

As DH and I get dressed throughout the week, we pick through the scattered but clean laundry for things to wear and then eventually fold and put the rest away.

I try to do a load each night that I have the time, but sometimes I will fold and leave a few loads to put away all at once.

I also am lucky enough to have a DH that does his own, along with all the sheets and towels, so we share the burden.

My mommy still helps me

DH does his own, I do mine & DS's. I leave it there until my mom folds it

It is overwhelming over here!!! I have to do at least 2 loads a day or we run out of towels and socks!!!

I do ALL my laundry on Fridays - I do 6 loads. I just do one load after the other so I am forced to take it out of the dryer and fold it. Then I put it away. I do have to admit that sometimes that last load sits in the dryer a few days

Remind me to take a picture of my laundry room for you. Piles that are waist high.

I don't there are laundry piles all over my house, clean, dirty, IDK pile

I do it all but leave in downstairs. I hate putting it away. Sometimes we have to get dressed downstairs because we have no clothes in our bedrooms

I try to do a load a night. DH will do some while he's home, too. The weekend I end up doing most of it.

We do the laundry once a week...

DH actually does it but I put it away so the job is not all on one person. And with DD's clothes, I fold them and put them away because DH doesn't know how to fold little clothes.

i do laundry everyday... this way when i am folding and putting away there isnt an obscene amount to do...

i do darks, whites w/ bleach then sheets or towels

so each day 3 loads.

occasionally i will skip a day

OMG, my response is the most of all.... becuase it's a combination of other posters above:

we wait until it piles up... then we do it all on friday

'WE' is a term used loosely.... since we drop the laundry off in the AM at mom's with DS... and mom starts the laundry, and DH finishes it while I go food shopping with mom in the evening...

so I can also tack on the above responses:
my mommy helps me with it.
DH does it!

Finally, to complete the horrible confession: The giant pile of laundry (about 4 loads) usually sits around for most of the weekend until I get around to folding it all and putting it away

embarrassing... truly embarrassing....

I s u c k at it.... There are baskets of clean clothes in all bedrooms and in the basement. I try to do the boys laundry every week or else I end up doing 4 loads at one time for them. I alternate between my clothes and sheets/towels weekly. I'm thankful that DH does his own laundry.

I recently gave away 8 bags of clothes to Goodwill thinking it would help, but I think I need to get rid of more clothes.
