Stamped Concrete
We need to re-do our driveway and also wanted to do some concrete work in our yard (create a pathway, slab for our garbage cans, etc.) Someone mentioned stamped concrete as an alternative t regular concrete or pavers. Does anyone have this? Do you like it? Was it expensive in comparison to reg, concrete? Can you recommend a contractor?
Thanks in advance, sorry for all the questions

Re: Stamped Concrete
Thanks for responding....We had some guys come and give estimates for reg concrete (which was alot IMO - almost $5K)...It just seems if this is going to be so much we should at least make it look nice...

Re: Stamped Concrete
We got stamped concrete and absolutely love it!!!
The stamped concrete is more expensive than regular, but much cheaper than brick pavers. (We did the stamped concrete for the backyard patio and around the pool).
From what I remember, stamped concrete was $8/square foot vs. $5/square foot for regular.
What is also great about it is that if you get any settling cracks later on, with the stamped concrete it looks like it is supposed to be there, since you are getting a stone look.
Good luck!

Would you mind sharing who you used for the stamped concrete? TIA!

Re: Stamped Concrete
If I remember correctly, Julz had this done, and it came out beautifully.
I'm currently trying to convince the DH that we need to get a walkway.... it's not going to well.

Re: Stamped Concrete
We were going to do stamped concrete for our patio but our mason (a family friend) said he wouldnt do it for us( we were paying him) even if we wanted him to. He said it doesn't last passed a few years and it would eventually start to crack. He did not recommend it at all. So we did pavers instead. BTW: We did have other masons come in just to give us estimates and the stamped concrete was not much less than the pavers.
