That looks awesome!

Can I ask you though, does it cost any less than pavers?

What are the pros to stamped concrete over a traditional paver or slate patio?

Looks great - and I'd love to know as well!

I know that the pros are that it lasts longer and there is no settleling. I want to know about the cost as well.

ETA: I know you don't get weeds with it either

Looks good. I'd like to know as well lol.

Re: Stamped Concrete Poured Today

From what I have been told Pavers run about 12 dollars a sqft, lets just say I paid a couple dollars less per sqft, for a better product.

Looks amazing!

This is definitely something for us to consider as an alternative to pavers. Thanks for posting.

Re: Stamped Concrete Poured Today

I always liked this. There are so many options to it too, circular, rather than square, colors upon colors to choose from...

Now, here's my question (i bet you you're sorry you posted this!)...
is it okay to use for a driveway? (dripped oil, antifreeze) with pavers you could easily replace or turn over...

When all is said and done, they seal the concrete, which should protect it form spills.
If you do spill, you would have to get the spill up with kitty litter or some other absorbing agent, the best advice is not to leak oil and spill anti-freeze all over the driveway.

Thank you!! I am going to look into this in the future. (My uncle - divorced from the family now is in this business, but commercially, he doesn't do private, that's how i have known about this...)
A restaurant called Thom Thom's parking lot is stamped concrete (wantagh - by the train station... ). But now, it's old, it's been there for YEARS! And, it still looks good!!!

Re: Stamped Concrete Poured Today

I started a new post, but I guess I will put the pics on here too.

Joe came and antiqued the patio on Saturday, the first picture is what it looks like now, kind of dull, but the last 3 are what it will look like on fathers day when joe comes back and acid stains the perimiter brick look and seals the patio.

Re: Stamped Concrete Poured Today

It looks great. I have the same pattern and similar color stamped concrete on my front porch & sidewalk and back patio.

It looks beautiful!! But, I have a question, if its concrete then at some point can't it crack?? And if so, can it be repaired??? Excuse my ignorance, I'm thinking about doing this myself and am very curious.

I've had it for about 3 years now and there are some small cracks. The good thing is the cracks tent to be on the indented part of the concrete so it is barely noticeable. Any concrete can crack - you can always get the expansion joints put in- but we chose to take out chances.

Re: Stamped Concrete Poured Today

Ours is cut, sawed at certain places to prevent unwanted cracking.
