Starting cereal tomorrow so many questions.....
I am really sorry I have so many questions.
She said to start with rice once a day for 3 to 4 days then try oatmeal then barley. How long do you give him only 1 teaspoon for? Once he has tried all three do you just alternate each day between the three of them? She said to mix one teaspoon of cereal with one ounce of formula. If he normally drinks a six ounce bottle do I then give him a five ounce bottle or he gets the cereal and the 6 ounce bottle? When do I give him the bottle after the cereal or do I wait a while? Do you give it in the morning or in the evening?
Can you post your feeding schedule of when your DC started cereal?

We started last week. THe box said to do 1TBSP of cereal and I mixed it w/formula (did nto measure). It was too thick at first bc DS was confused and made a face. I made it thinner w/more formula. He only ate a little and then was crying for his bottle. Next day he ate more, by 3rd day he ate the whole thing and i gave him another TBSP at night (so 2 TBSP per day). HOwever he got really gassy from the rice so we stopped. We'll start Oatmeal tomorrow the same way, not worrying too much about how much he eats the main thing is that he drinks his bottles. Food right now is just for practice. If he takes a few ounces less than normal bc he's eating cereal I think that's fine.

We did not reduce the amount of formula when we added cereal and we made it pretty thin to begin with. The rice binded her a bit so we moved quickly to oatmeal, then barley, then mixed. After she tried them all, it didn't matter what we give day to day.

The ped will let you know but usually 4 to 6 months. DS is 4 months.
