Re: statistics...
you're going to drive yourself mad. Don't beat yourself up over this. Miscarriages in the first trimester are very, very common. This is why most doctors won't see pregnant patients until they're 8 weeks pregnant and why most women won't tell others their pregnant until after 12 weeks.

Re: statistics...
Like I said in one of your other posts, you can't rely on statistics. I had a loss at 17wks from complications that put me in a one in a million category because of how severe those specific issues were.
If something happens to you that only had a .0000000000000001% chance of occurring... it doesn't make a difference that it's rare. If it happened to you, that's all that matters. The best you can do now is little by little figure out how you will move forward.
Really, what it comes down to is losses are unfortunately not all that uncommon in the first trimester for a whole slue of reasons.

Re: statistics...
I hate statistics too....they will drive u crazy, i hate that the odds of getting pregnant over thirty five are so bad. YET, i got pregnant on first try right before 35 birthday, and at 38 i got pregnant on the first month using an OPK. Because of these statistics, i'm so scared that i just got lucky in Feb., and it going to take me forever to get preggo again. I'm also so nervous that the odds are against me for a healthy child. YET, i know of at least 12 people personally that have had healthy babies between 38-41. But these statistics stress me out EVERY SINGLE DAY. It really stinks. :(

Step away from Google.
Unfortunately things happen. You can't go by statistics.

Statistics stink.
After three miscarriages and three chemicals, If I lived by statistics, I would have quit a long time ago.

I agree with this.
I too fell into a 5% category and still had a mc at 10/11 weeks after seeing a heartbeat. Sometimes these unfortunate things happen. But that doesn't mean there can't be good stuff around the corner.
I will admit though... when i had my mc, I did look into statistics just to see how likely it was that I mc... and it was hard to see that it wasn't very likely at that point. However you still have a very high % of going onto a healthy normal pregnancy.
i also hated when people said "oh it's so common that happens, it happens all the time to many people"... it's like well right now I'm upset about what happened to me... this comment always came across with the connotation that I should just get over it and it's OK bc it happens to many others. For some reason this comment also tied into statistics for me.
Good Luck to you and everyone on this board.

I have heard comments like this sooooooo many times.... that losses are so common I took it as ... what, so I shouldn't feel upset about it?
As far as I'm concerned, I don't care if 90% of pregnancies end in a loss... If YOU are the one going through it, YOU are entitled to your feelings!!

Re: statistics...
I am so sorry for your loss. One of the things I learned during all my IF years and m/c's was to stay off the internet, I drove myself insane for awhile.
Unfortunately m/c is something that happens, and most of the time, it isn't something we do or don't do that causes, it, it falls into that generic cr@ppy category of things you can't control. My last m/c was at 12 weeks, now I see the statistics you put up.
I know that doesn't make you feel better, nothing, but time, is going to help you with this.

I agree. I just posted earlier than I have gotten this comment and it's the worst especially when it comes from people who have had perfect pregnancies every time. Just because it happens "all the time" doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. For my husband and I it was devastating and if it happened to any of the people who gave me that comment they'd understand but lucky for them they have never had to experience such a loss.
Bottom line the stats stink. Some people have multiple pregnancies, all easily conceived with each baby being normal/healthy/perfect. Why some of us experience a loss on our first try I don't know. Why some of us have a hard time getting pregnant I don't know. Why some of us will go on to have multiple losses I don't know. It just is what it is. I used to be angry/upset about it but those feelings get you nowhere. So don't dwell on it too much. Like someone else said, time will help. Hang in there
