Sterile Water? Nursery Water? Filered Water?
What did/do you use and why to prepare formula for your LO?
DS is 7 weeks... Can I just use filtered water?

OK, so I saw the recommended post at the bottom of my post - apparently NW has fluoride and DS is too young for fluoride? Greeeaaattt... I'm so glad that I found this out after using 4 bottles.

Tap water filtered by the brita
Us too, but I use plain tap as well. I never even thought to buy nursery water, bottled water whatever. Formula is expensive enough....I can't see buying bottled just for that since we use the Brita, but I am pretty laid back. My cat drinks it everyday and she's still alive and healthy

Tap water filtered by the brita . That's what I did too. My Dr said that bottled water isnt regulated so you really don't know what you're drinking. She said its okay to use when we're out but didn't recommend it for all the time. That's a good thing though, because that would have been $$$

Re: Sterile Water? Nursery Water? Filered Water?
My first Pediatrician (who I've since switched from) told us to boil the water for the formula, which is already filtered by the fridge.
I never checked with my current pediatrician, so we still do this. We fill a pot with the fridge filtered water and boil it for 5-10 minutes and then pour it in a big jug to use for formula.
It would be great to not have to do this!!!

Re: Sterile Water? Nursery Water? Filered Water?
I believe there is no need to boil water since after it's cooled is isn't sterile anymore. Correct me if I am wrong.
I was told by my ped that once she was off of formula, to use nursery water if we had well water and tap filtered water if it was city water. City water has fluoride in it, well does not. Of course every ped is different and different studies show different things.
But as I said before, we drink the Brita water, so it never occurred to me to anything but that. When we are out we used bottled water to mix the bottles if i didn't have water with me.
Boiling water is a lot of work. I can't see doing that everyday.

My Ped told me to use whatever water we drink. But I was using Nursary water before. Now I boiled the Nursery water and put it in a jug. Maybe I will start using brita.

We did water out of the Brita Filter at home and bottled water when we were out.
