Sterilizing Bottles

At what age did you stop sterilizing your babies bottles. Also, did you do it everytime, or a couple of times a week. Thanks!

Re: Sterilizing Bottles

I will be honest- I only sterilized them a couple of times after the first time. We have extremely hot water so I didn't worry about it.

BTW- nothing happened. Chat Icon

Re: Sterilizing Bottles

I'm still steralizing after 11 weeks. I plan to continue doing this until she takes the sippy cup.

Re: Sterilizing Bottles

I just wash them and the nipples in hot soapy water. I boil the nipples once in a while along with the pacis.

Re: Sterilizing Bottles

My DD is 8 months old and I still boil her bottles daily. It's more just a habit that DH and I have gotten into. I guess we could stop at anytime.

Re: Sterilizing Bottles

i sterlilized the bottles everytime I used them for the first month or so. Then I sterilized them every few days, and then I think by 2 mths I stopped and just threw them in the dishwasher.

I have a sterilize cycle on my dishwasher so I used that after the first couple times I truly sterilized with a pot.

Re: Sterilizing Bottles

after about 3 or 4 months. I sterilized every time. I feel that a newborn needs their bottles, or the nipples at least, sterilized.

She's almost 8 months and I still do. Although I do it because it's easier than running them through the diswasher - it takes alot less time.

I rinse them with hot soapy water, pop them in the sterilizer and in 6 minutes, they are done. So easy!

Same here. I throw everything in a tupperware bowl full of really hot soapy water and then just rinse them well after a little while.

Same here.

I bought the sterilizer rack for the microwave, but never took it out of the box. Chat Icon
