Steroid Shot
Anyone NOT get the steroid shot?
I was just reading through some old posts (what week did you deliver, how big were your babies, etc) and it seemed like most multiple moms-2-b got the steroid shot.
I am 34 weeks tomorrow and have not gotten one and there are no plans to get one.

I didn't get one. delivered at 35w3d.
babies were 5-12 and 4-11. spent 8 days in the hospital

I never got one, I never heard of the shot before. I delivered vaginally 37w1d baby a 6lbs8oz, baby b 5lbs 1oz went home with me 2 days later, no problems

I got them at 30 weeks, but that was because I was having premature contractions and they wanted to make sure I had in case I went into labor

I did not get one. I delivered at 36 weeks, 5 days and they were 6lbs5oz and 5lbs6oz and were 100% perfect!

I got mine at 28 weeks just as a precaution. The OB really didnt think I was going to make it to my 36 week C/S date but I did.

i never got one and it was never mentioned, i delivered c-section at 37 weeks my dds came home with me after 3 days, never went into the nicu

The only reason why I got one was because I started having contractions at 31 weeks and I spent the day in L&D. The babies were born at 35 weeks.

Once your 34 weeks, I wouldnt worry about it. I only got it b/c I was having a lot of painful braxton hicks at the time and b/c they were concerned Sydneys NST's werent doing so well, so in case they had to deliver me early.

i got one a few weeks ago as a pre-caution b/c BP had risen a lot and Dr didnt know if it would turn into pre-clampsia. 35 weeks tomorw and still no pre-clampsia so i really didnt need it. It's really only needed if there is a threat to deliver 30-32 weeks but you are past that so you are fine...no worries

I didn't get one either. I delivered at 36 weeks, 5 lbs 9 oz and 4 lbs 15 oz. My little one spent 6 days in the NICU because he was having trouble breathing at birth. He is 7.5 months now and perfect!

I got mine at 32 weeks and I delivered at 35 weeks. I also got them as a precaution b/c I was having contracions and didn't realize it!

I was originally suppose to go at 38 weeks and had no plan on getting the shot, but when I started having issues around 33 weeks they sent me to get it. I wound up giving birth at 36 weeks.
The shot is not fun. Just be warned. Make sure you bring someone with you. I didn't and was hysterical. The nurse who was there was great though.

I just saw my Dr. today and he already said he wants me to have it at 28 weeks as a precautionary. No problems right now at 22 weeks but he said being that Im smaller in size and haven't gained that much weight, it could only help them in case of early delivery.

I remember this being some magic # as well....
I dont know if things changed but for me it wasnt just one shot but rather 2 given, I guess, 12 hours apart or something like that....
I actually had 2 rounds of it. Once at 26 weeks and again at 30 weeks....
Things may have changed though..my twins are 11 now..
