STEW LEONARDS!
am i the only one thats excited? I live across the street from a fairway, but the sales at Stew Leonards in Farmingdale the next couple of days are RIDICULOUS!!!!

Its not a reg supermarket. They have a few canned goods/ boxed items but its mostly all fresh- baked in house, meat, seafood, veggies all fantastic quality. They have cows, so the milk is theirs. The whole experience is fun. I hate crowds but the sales are SO good im willing to drive an hour (im in queens) to take advantage.

their lobster rolls and pistachio soft serve ice cream is well worth the drive. I hope its like the other locations where they have an eating area. They have awesome lobster bakes, burgers, heros for dirt cheap

I live in Farmingdale and the on the Mom's FB page a bunch of people have gone and given reviews. Crowds are def growing and most would avoid during peak times. But said the store is clean but good luck getting near the meats!!!!

I live in CT and we love stews. good luck with the crowds lol. sometimes they are impossible here haha but their meat is some of the best at low cost we love it

I work in Melville and I CANNOT wait to go; however, I know its going to be packed so I'll wait a little while 
I love the one in Yonkers, this could quite possibly be my very favorite store.

I live near one. We love Stew's. I wonder if they are going to lay out the new store like Danbury's. It's set up so that shopper traffic really only goes one way so if you forget something and need to go back when the store is busy, an angry yuppie might cut you. I've had to do it and it's not pretty.  Otherwise, it's a great place.

I work in the shopping center. The parking lot is crazy.
Saturday will probably be a nightmare Emeril Lagasse wull be there doing a book signing from 12p-2p.
They also will be doing a lot of demonstrations through out the day.

DH and I just got back. Took us about an hour to get thru the store. Definitely crowded but we are familiar with Stew's so we don't have to stop and look at everything.
Lunch is apple cider donuts and a glass of cold milk.
DH got some fried chicken.
Eta : so glad we don't have to pay a bridge toll to go to Stew's anymore. Rumor the next one will open in East Meadow.

We do Fairway less often now, their prices became insane.
Stop & Shop took over the Waldbaums in Bay Terrace, meh, prices are still high and produce not so fresh, and Shop Rite moved into the space in College Point.
So worth it for us to drive to Stews to do a big shop once a month.
I can drink the whole half gallon of milk, it's so good and only $1.99

i dont find prices at fairway prices high at all. I feel people spend more at Fairway because they have ton of products a typical market doesnt have, so they end up picking up a few items you normally wouldnt which would make a difference in cost.
