Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
Everything I read says that I shouldn't be feeling the baby that much because the baby is bigger now and there really isn't anymore room for the baby to move around....well I feel the baby more now to the point where my stomach visibly moves around... Does this mean the baby is small? Does anyone else still feel the baby moving and kicking around ?

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
i'm 33 weeks and TONS of movement.
i was told last week at my appt that it isn't true you should expect to stop feeling movement so much at the end - it just becomes a different kind of movement.
but 30 weeks ... you still have a lot of time to go.

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I'm 30w3d (I think we're only a day apart!)....and I feel the baby usually only at night (consistently anyway), since I have an anterior placenta.....it stinks b/c it makes me worry if I go too long w/o feeling the baby, I just remind myself I have a big "cushion" in between my belly and the baby! Don't worry too much about the baby's size, maybe you have a lot of amniotic fluid like I do and the baby just has a lot of room to move?

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I'm almost 33 weeks and this little one moves non stop. I've taken videos today of my stomach, looks like jumping beans in there. I'd be worried if I wasn't feeling the baby move.

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I thought movement wasn't supposed to really slow down until the very end. Like 37w.

Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
You should be feeling your baby move all the way till labor. Im 38+ weeks & feel her several times a day. Movements are different as baby gets larger ex: jabs & kicks become more like rolling, squirming ..like they are stretching or changing positions.

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I had an 8lb 8oz baby and a 9lb 4oz baby and I felt them constantly until the day they were born. My tummy was always moving, they were both active right up to the end.

I never heard that you shouldn't feel the baby as it gets bigger. That makes no sense. I was still feeling the baby sitting on the operating table waiting for my c-section!

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
with my last pregnancy, I was still feeling movement on the way to the hospital to have him- the movements became reduced as the weeks went on because of lack of space but never stopped

I felt the baby move even during labor! The movement will change but it's still there until the end!

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I had heard that you don't feel it as much "...because they run out of room."
But my midwives said no that's absolutely not true...if you've been feeling lots of movement throughout the pregnancy you should still be feeling it no matter how far along you are...it will just be ...different feeling. That if you were to stop feeling it, make sure you call your dr.

Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I'm 31 weeks and I feel the baby move more now than ever. It doesn't sit still and I swear it's trying to climb out of my belly button sometimes. Ouch!

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
I'm about 30 weeks and I still feel him move. Not as much as I did last week but still enough. He measures on the bigger side according to the sonos. You will still feel the baby move as he/she gets bigger. I remember with my DS I was at work one day in a seminar and he moved like crazy, so much so that the MD presenting at the seminar noticed (on my face) I guess and asked me if I was ok (I was 33 weeks). It was crazy mvmt. MD said DS must have liked him seminar on orthopedic injuries and rehab, lol!

Re: Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
At 37 weeks I still feel baby move - a lot! And at 34 weeks baby was measuring 5lbs 14oz and in the 76th percentile so no worries.

I would think that you would feel the baby even more as time goes on because they are getting bigger.

Still feeling the baby at 30 weeks
At 38 weeks tomorrow I can say that I don't feel the baby move AS MUCH as I did at 30 weeks but I still feel him moving around. It's not so much kicks or punches anymore, it's more like him rolling around in there or pushing to just get a little more comfortable.
I do have to pay more attention to feel him move sometimes and my midwife said that might happen as the movements are there but not as hard. I was in L&D last Thursday and during the sono the NP said "are you feeling these movements" and I said "no". Well baby must have heard because he let our a BIG movement to let me know he is in there.
I remember at around 30 weeks I was looking up if there was such thing as "too much movement" because I literally thought I was living in Space Balls and he was going to break out of my stomach and do a tap dance on the table. Enjoy the movements and watching your stomach move...I LOVED freaking people out!
