Still Happy You Are Warm In Your FUR Coat???

im sorry. i know there are people on this site who dont mind wearing fur......
.......but i cant help but feel wearing fur is the most selfish thing in the world.
whenever i see someone with a fur coat on i immediatly dislike them.

This is where your fur comes from. Feel good abou yourself????

im sorry, i know this post was harsh, but i couldnt get past the first 30 seconds without covering my eyes and starting to cry.

maybe some people should watch this and their opinions on fur will change.

I agree, it is cruel, and I'd never wear a fur coat and choose not to eat certain foods (like veal) due to the way the animals are treated. But I still wear leather and eat meat, which I guess makes me a hypocrite.

eating meat is different IMO. you NEED to eat to live, while you dont need to wear fur.

i too do not eat lamb, veal, etc.... but i do eat meat. but now im thinking i may try not to after seeing that.

i have 2 leather items. both bags. but i just switched to a canvas bag for the summer.

i dont know how leather is brought about, but i dont think it is at all the same as the fur trade.

and i dont think youre a hypocrite.Chat Icon

i don't think it is hypocritical that people do their parts to stop animal cruelty...

i feel we all do things in our own way...
And i think that is a good thing...

i don't think its different at all, unfortunately. Maybe the animals arent tortured that way, but its still killing them for our own selfish reasons. because, Honestly, you do not NEED to eat meat, chicken, etc.. to live... there are plenty of alternatives.

i personally find eating meat and wearing fur in two totally different categories.

good point though. perhaps i should start eating fake meat products. ("faken bacon", etc)
i never saw it as an option for me (not eating meat) since i dont eat veggies, but perhaps its just time i just adjust my eating habits towards eating meat substitutes. (is that the right word?)

but from a Vegan's point of view, you are just as guilty as the people youre lashing out at. JMO.

my mom bought me fur earmuffs for the holidays and I wouldn't even try them on. I asked her to return them ASAP and to please never buy me fur anything ever again Chat Icon

thtas EXACTLY my problem.
dont eat fish, lamb, veal, turkey, more stuff too perhaps.

the meat i DO eat is: steak, burgers, SOMETIMES chicken, but not often and porkchops every now and then.

i stopped eating meat once and it was not a good experience and i was ordered by the DR to start eating meat again

eta: although YES i feel guilty for eating meat, i dont think of it as being onthe smae level as wearing a fur coat. food and fashion are differen t

Jess....do you think you would feel differently about eating meat if you had to kill it yourself, gut it and then cook it?

I think if most people had to do that for themselves...there would be more vegans of the world

Re: Still Happy You Are Warm In Your FUR Coat???

i agree with you there.

but like i said, even though i eat some meats, i still feel very guilty when doing so......

but if i went vegetarian i wouldnt frown upon people who are carnivores.

but whether im carnivourous or veggie i still will always hold a grudge against fur wearers.

i cant help it.

Re: Still Happy You Are Warm In Your FUR Coat???

I agree with Jess.. I feel that eating meat and wearing fur are two different things. People don't eat meat as a fashion statement or to show their financial status.. there really is absolutely no need for those animals to be skinned because some selfish humans.
