I am freaking out.

DS has not gotten sick - YET, but every other post on my FB feed is about kids who go to his school that got sick within the first 2 weeks!!!

I can deal with colds but PLEASE, PLEASE don't let him come home with the stomach bug! That is one of my biggest worries.

Hope your kids feel better and that it was a fast one.

Same here. I have such an irrational fear of the stomach bug it's ridiculous. QUOTE]

My thing is I cannot handle vomit - it is the ONE Mommy duty I just did not master.

I'm pretty sure its all in my head but as soon as someone mentions vomiting, I get that awful bile taste in my mouth and I start to get quesey. No joke this thread makes my stomach loopy...lol

DS has only had one stomach bug so far (he was 18 months and is now 4) the second he threw up, my stomach grew weak, and I was getting sick.

Should DS get it now I PRAY that he can let us know before he hurls so that I have time to move him into the bathroom or grab a bucket, but I have a feeling that is not how its going to go Chat Icon

I have the same issue here.... We should start a group...

I'm also totally the same way! It's actually called emetophobia! I've been like this my whole life and have only recently realized that other people are afraid of vomiting/vomit.

I hate stomach virus season. I was so much more relaxed this summer bc I feel like its def more prevalent in the winter.

The anticipation of the stomach bug is worse then it actually is. My DS is prone to it..some years we have it 4-5 times that year. I have much experience in puke.

My kids had colds and I kept them home Monday(they are in K.) I have been giving them elderberry through, and it seemed to go away very quickly(2 days) Try that!

LOL We are the same person when it comes to puke Chat Icon
I was so more relaxed about him being around other kids in camp and public settings than I am now.

I can't believe that there is an actual name for it!! My entire life every time I would get nauseous I would start to panic about the vomit that was going to follow. I lay there and try my hardest to take my mind off of it and just PRAY it wouldn't happen. There are times I think I am going to die while its happening...TMI sorry. I'm scared of it really.

I have the same fear. I'm actually in 2 private emetaphobia books on Facebook just bc it's comforting talking to others who have the same fear. One of the groups suggested a book called "cure your emetaphobia and thrive" which is supposed to help. I just keep forgetting to buy it.

I know it may sound silly to others but I swear during winter I stress every single day. If someone from works calls out and I find out they have the stomach virus I will worry the entire week that I will get it. I've looked things up online how to avoid it which is nearly impossible besides washing hands. I should look into this book, maybe I can relax a little this winterChat Icon
