stranger taking pics of your baby in public
Yesterday I was in the food store on line with DH when he spots this guy walk behind me with his phone out taking a picture of my baby in the car seat sleeping.
DH face pretty much summed up what he was going to say to the guy so was like "How could you not just want to take a picture of that cute face, How could you have a bad day looking at that?"
That's the first time that happened to us and it freaked me out. Its up there with those people who want to touch your child's cheeks or hands who you don't know. WTH
I feel like I should have done something more, said something or am I just taking it too far making it more than what it is.
ps. I dont know if he actually took the picture I didnt hear the click but it could have been muted.

On multiple occasions people have tried and have taken pictures of my twins!!! I don't understand why they think it is ok?!? We are not the circus! Usually a nice dirty look from me and they erase it on occasion I have had to say something! It has always been women though a man would freak me out more!

I never understood why anyone would even want a picture of someone they didn't know! Bizarre! We were at a Halloween thing recently, and a mom came up to me and asked if she could take a picture of my daughter with her son. I looked at her son, and he was like 11 with a ski mask on. I said sorry I don't like strangers taking pictures of her. Seriously?! Why would an 11 year old want a picture with a 5 year old stranger anyway!

I know I'm not up on all the latest technology, so maybe I'm not getting it, but without your name/address to know who you are or where to find you, what does having a picture of your baby do? Could it be used in some way to harm you or the baby?

Doubt it, but it's still creepy to take pictures of kids you don't know! Although, all those fake adoption scammer posters out there on the web get their pictures SOMEWHERE!

I would have said something, if my DH was there he would have gone off on the guy-he is even crazier than me about strangers having photos of our kids.
We have been out at places and strangers are taking photos of their kids but my kid is standing right next to them and I will step in front of DC to block them from the photo.

Ditto! Eff that. I probably would have grabbed the phone from him and demanded he show me how to delete or I'd break his phone but that's hormonal mama bear talking. Lol.l Definitely crossing boundaries. People are sick!

I have had this happen so many times and it pisses me off....If I see them do it I make them delete the pics right there in front of me....It really pisses me off how people think they have a right to take a pic of other peoples kids that they dont even know.... The last time this happened to me I was at the Queens Zoo with the kids and almost beat the woman down....I had her delete the pics but the next time I am asking for the SIM card.....

Thats weird. DD was being cute in a store once and someone asked if they could take a picture of her and I was like sure. Asking is one thing, just doing it is creepy. Sorry.

That IS weird to me!! I wouldn't be happy either.
I will say there was ONE time at the MOMA where a photographer was going around taking pics and ASKED me if it were OK she take a pic of my baby... I said yes and she gave me her card. But that's totally different.
I think if anything they should ask first... at least give you that respect. I'm sure most often the answer would be No.. but still they should ask and not just snap a shot.
That being said... who the f wants pics of strangers anyway? That's just weird!!

No I dont think it was to get me but it was just strange. You couldnt see her whole face cause her bunny ear'd hood was over her eyes and she was sleeping. You never know if the guy was a perv or something. The lady next to me was looking at him also like he was a weirdo.
I have had someone come up to me and ask to take a picture for a school project but that was a 14 yro girl.
From now on food shopping is done with wearing the Ergo or the Baby Bjorn. Stay away from my kid. LOL
Glad to see that im not the only one thinking people dont have boundaries.

I see what you're saying but I don't think that's really the point. I can just imagine it would feel like a violation of your privacy. What is this stranger going to do with a photo anyway? It's just creepy and generally inappropriate to take a picture of a child without permission.
