Strangers are telling me I better get my hospital bag packed because I'm delivering early ...
...... because I'm carrying BIG at 29wks.
  
Just a vent. I've heard this countless times in the last few weeks. One lady even thought I was going to go any day now and when I said August, her jaw dropped. Of course my doctor expects me to go right on time! 
I love that I get to walk around with the big belly when (in what I thought was an ideal world like a year ago .. ) .. my surrogate would be the one prancing around looking pregnant - so this is pretty awesome - I just really don't like having to say at least 2-3 times a day to random strangers that NO I still have at least 10wks or so before I pop!

ugh. i can relate! ive been hearing that since i was before 29 weeks. it sucks, but like you said, pregnancy is a miracle and all that jazz. hang in there. the annoying comments will continue, but august will probably be here in no time!

29 weeks here also and honestly people are just clueless about how big you get- I get asked at least 2x a week if I am having twins- I think I might just start saying yes lol

So annoying! One of my student's parents asked when I was due and I when I told her, she said "You're not going to make that! You'll be lucky if you make it home today". So nice lol

Ok... All I can say is that I am really glad that everything is ok. I got really nervous opening up this thread. After everything you went through to get here I thought something was wrong!!!

Noooo I'm sorry!  Only thing that's wrong is my mood after being told I'm ready to pop NOW when I really have 10wks-ish to go! Sorry about that!
And seriously I may just play along next time and be like ohh yeahhhh I'm 8 days past my due date. Sucks.

I don't know why but this comment never really bothered me at all,same with the are there twins in there? I'd guess I'd rather look really pregnant then not pregnant at all. The comment that would get to me was "you haven't had that baby yet?!?!, when are they inducing you?" which started at like 37 weeks. I felt like saying come on people the average gestation for a first time mom is 41 weeks 2 days it's not like i'm 3 weeks overdue. As if having to wait to have by DS at 41 weeks wasn't hard enough hehe

2 people at work said this to me and I felt kinda upset..it made me feel like I'm huge. I even asked my doc if he thought I was going to go early and if Im bigger than I should be...he looked at me like I was nuts lol

I got this in the middle of my pregnancy too!!! It was annoying! Don't get me wrong, after being told we couldn't have kids, then having neurosurgery so we could, then having a MC, I am SO happy to be pregnant and LOVE my baby bump, but yes, SUPER annoying to hear all the time!!!
Now at 9 months pregnant everyone asks "when are you due" and when I say "in 2-3 weeks" I get "WOW you don't look like that AT ALL"!!! I even got this last night out to dinner to which my MIL replied "you can't see her bottom half" to which I replied "Thank you! I actually get that a lot lately, excuse my mother in law she doesn't know anything"! (sorry that was my vent of the day about MIL)
I think being 5'0" I started to fill out faster because like my sister says "baby only has one way to grow...out" but towards the end it starts to look a lot closer to your actually due date size.

Eh, just say thanks and walk away!
The size you carry doesn't really relate to whether you go early or late. I carried tiny for most of my pregnancy but went into labor 10 days early. You just never know!

Crashing - people told me that with DS 1 ALL.THE.TIME. I was induced 4 days late.
Some people carry bigger than others. We're all different. And people feel that since you are pregnant, they have license to talk to you and provide their opinions.
ETA - When the OB measured my belly I always measured right on time or one week ahead.

People are so bizarre! I had a client who, when she realized asked me "Are you happy?" Uhhh...yeah. I mean, what else could I say? Even if it hadn't been planned and I wasn't, this is not my friend or family. I have to give her that she is, in general, pretty wacky anyway, but still.
As far as your size, yeah, people should just stop. I work with someone who, my first pregnancy kept going on about how I would definitely go early because I was SOOOOO BIGGGG!! Which was weird given that everyone else told me how small I was carrying.
When I told her I was PG this time, I said something about how I'd really love to never hear how BIG I was. So, I think she's been having to bite her tongue. It's funny that she'll say, "Wow, looks like you've really popped just since last week!" and "It looks like you dropped." b/c she just soooo wants to tell me how huge I am. It really is funny .. MOST people tell me I'm big but then my hair person tells me it looks like I haven't gained much weight at all.
For the record, I'm up about 35lbs (at least that's what I was the last time I checked- which I have stopped doing because it only makes me feel bad! ) .. I'm just self conscious about people telling me how big I am because I KNOW I am over the weight guidelines. I know the guidelines mean nothing and are just an average- and most of all none of my doctors are concerned --- but still I'd be lying if I didn't say I do feel a little bad about it.
