Stupid new mommy question
Besides for feeling warm what are some tell tale signs of a newborn or infant having a fever...I feel like a lunatic sometimes I feel like she feels warm and I'm constantly taking her temperature...she's not liking me too much about that...LOL

Re: Stupid new mommy question
Newborns are always really warm....
Just take her temp if you feel like she's too warm.... Body temps are something that you will start to just know....
Other people will feel her and tell you, oh she feels really warm, and you'll just touch her and say WITH CONFIDENCE.... Nope, no fever here!
You'll get the hang of it, PROMISE!!!!

Re: Stupid new mommy question
Put one of those temperature stickers on her that way you can check her all day long
Disclaimer: they aren't 100% accurate, but good enough.
It comes with practice. You'll realize that your daughter runs warmer & then you'll see when it's a change from her norm.
My daughter always ran warm. The way we usually could tell is her hands & feet would be burning.

Re: Stupid new mommy question
i had the same question when DS was new. he was just a warm baby! he never had a fever - i think the highest his temp ever went was 99.4, and that was just afte waking up
NO questions are stupid, ask ANYTHING you want here

Re: Stupid new mommy question
I was neurotic too...unless she was fussing, I thought she was ok. We actually bought a thermometer you stick on her temple and it reads her temperature in 5 seconds...so if you feel like you want to take her temperature 100 times a day, it is sooo easy.

ME too...lol! I have taken DDs temp quite a few times, I am paranoid as she is still just over 2 mths. I will be less worried when 3 mths comes...
I asked this same question recently. I know NOT feeding well is another sign of a fever...and of course fussiness.
