Stupid tax questions....
So, we just bought our first house back in April, what can we write off on our taxes for that? I hear everyone say that owning a home is great for the tax benefits, but I don't know what they are

owning a house, specifically paying interest on your mortgage and paying property taxes help you lower your tax liability.
you should be receiving a 1098 from the mortgage holder.

you can also write off points paid at closing, if any
this should also be on the 1098
