Stye in my eye
I think I have a stye in my left eye. I've never had one before and it hurts so bad. I've been putting hot compresses on it but it hasn't gone away and the whole eye area is swollen. Has anyone else had one? How do you get it to go away? Do I need to go to the dr? I'm in pain!

Re: Stye in my eye
I had them a few times-essentially it is a clogged tear duct.
Hot compresses are best. You can call the eye doctor, but I don't know what they can do for you. There might be drops-but I don't know if they are safe for preggos!
Feel better

Re: Stye in my eye
The hot compress will help it go away faster and a cotton ball with Witch Hazel will lighten up the redness.

Re: Stye in my eye
Hi. My dad is an eye dr., so I asked him and he said there is a topical antibiotic that is typically prescribed, but he wasn't sure if it's safe in pregnancy off hand. You'd have to ask your dr. Definitly hot compresses are best, and you could go to the pharmacy and get a lid scrub. He recommended a product called steri-lid or something that is basically an antibacterial wash for your eyes. Again, read the label to make sure it's ok for preggos.
Good luck and I hope you feel better!
