subbing question?
can anyone remember when they start needing subs? last year, I started myself usually around oct/nov, but this year im prepared earlier  but im sure they will be no need for at least a good month, right ?

not necessarily. altohugh most teachers try nto to be out at all the first month or so of school, people do get sick, go to funerals, conferences, etc. i don't think you'll be swamped, but i would imagine you would get some calls.

My husband is a Perm sub again this year But his contract doesn't start until Oct. But last year he started the first day of school and worked right into the perm sub started and all the way to the end of the school year. You would be surprised teachers have other things going on right in the beginning.
