Sudden bruising

Recently I have been noticin g sudden bruising on my arms and legs but have no recollection of bumping into anything or hurting myself in any way. I have never had this problem before. I am 29 and currently not taking any types of medications. The bruises dont hurt when touched but they are very dark bkack/purple, some the size of a dime and others a little bigger then a quarter or half dollar. Does anyone experiance the same thing, I hate to think it cause Im "getting older" but I would favor that over some type of medical issue any days. Any thoughts/ideas/or recommendation as to what type of doctor I should consider seeing wouldd be greatly appreciated.

One of my friends had this when we were in college and it turned out to be an iron deficiency. I think she just saw her regular doctor for it.
