Summer babies (re: take home outfit)
Are you bringing a hat for baby? I plan on bringing home the baby in a light cotton footie sleeper...I see the light cotton "knot" hats that go w/them, should this be used in the summer??

I think you should be fine, esp if its light.-- I def plan on putting a hat on. I found a plain white sun hat (one w/ the brim) and going to use that. I dont want to take any chances with the sun and a newborn.

I brought DD home in a cotton feetie pajama with a matching hat. I also brought a matching cotton blanket that I put over the carrier for the sun (and AC in the car). She is a July baby.

DS was born in August and it was nearly 100 degrees outside. He did not come home in a hat. I put him in a hat when he got home because of the air conditioning here.

The take home outfit I have has a hat that goes with it. Ill just play it by ear. If its too hot, I will take a few pics with it on before we leave the hospital then take it off.
