Sunburn-help!
We just got back from our caribbean cruise. My feet got sunburnt pretty bad, even tho I used sunblock of 50 on it.
Any remedies? I am still in a bit of pain from it...my feet are a little bit swollen still & I am most comfortable barefoot, but obviously cannot do that if I am at work...AND its winter!
Thanks!
I have been sporaying with solarcaine & trying to keep my feet elevated...
Thanks!

First of all - I am totally jealous that you even HAVE a sunburn
I have done that more times than I can count!! Try a cold washcloth! I heave vinegar can take out the sting.
Feel better!

Soothacaine - it's sold in a bottle by banana boat - if you can find it....it's NOT solarcaine...it's FANTASTIC stuff!!!!

Re: Sunburn-help!
Boil water and add a few tea bags. Let it cool (add ice cubes to help the process move along quicker)- take a couple of washcloths and soak them in the tea for a minute, then apply to your feet. Tea is supposed to help take the sting out and help it to start to heal. I usually do that and then I have either aloe or soothacaine in the fridge (or solarcaine) and I apply that after my the tea has dried. I think the key is to apply it fairly often, to try to keep your skin moisturized to help the burns heal. HTH!

Re: Sunburn-help!
Drink tons of water. Part of healing a sunburn is keeping hydrated.
I always use aloe, it helps moisturize and lets you breathe. I apply it every couple of hours.
I have also heard taking an anti-inflammatory, like asprin or tylenol, within 24 hours of getting a sunburn can help keep it from getting to its worst. I know it's a little late for that, but just thought I'd add for future reference.
Good luck, sunburns are the worst!

Noxema works wonders. Rub a little on your face and leave it for several minutes. Rinse with cool water.
