Swine Flu In My DS Class!!
I just got a call from my DS school that there is a child with swine flu. To make matters worse, the child is in my DS class (pre-k) and they also said that some of the staff have come down with flu-like symptoms. I'm starting to freak out because I have a 2 yr old at home who has been constantly getting sick through out the winter so his immune system isn't the strongest. He's just finally getting better. I also fear for my DS that he might get sick.
The school decided to remain open. Should I pull my DS out of school since there are only a few more days left? What would you do?

I would keep my child home if another child in his class has it. Granted he's probably already been exposed, but I still would.

I would keep my child home! I know it's a bit dramatic because we don't keep our kids home with every case of the flu but if it's enough for some schools to close- like you said- it's the end of the year. I would keep DC home for the rest of the week and see if there are any more cases and take it from there.
What distict?

I would definitely keep my DS home. Yes, the child is no longer there but, who knows how many other kids and staff will come down with it and may come to school with symptoms. The only difficult part is that he will be home more with you and your other DC and for the next few days you have to worry if he has been exposed but, assuming he is only at school for a few hours a day anyway i don't think it will make a big difference. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this Sending you  that DS is fine and your other DC and u and DH will not get sick either!
